Bob is the kaylue of Princess Kue. While they were still very young, they crawled into a space probe that was unknowingly launched while they were inside. They were separated by a distortion cloud, and Bob, still inside the probe eventually landed on the planet Naphara. When eaten by the local wildlife, it was able to take control of their bodies, acting as a hive mind. It went on to pass between various carnivores until it was finally rescued.
