Gloom is small, polite and submissive. He doesn't argue and avoids confrontation of any kind, the only exception to this being Dim, who easily irritates him. While he doesn't enjoy leaving the Dark realm, he has no problem carrying out his job.

He also has the Shadow Guardian equivalent of a crush on Shade, despite being mildly terrified of her. This means that he feels completely neutral towards her.
