Starshifters are individuals that have the ability to communicate with the Multiverse. Most will form stronger connections with individual universes, typically that they were born into. It is their soul that possesses their powers and traits,so they can incarnate on any planet, as a member of any species.

While a Starshifter will not die naturally, they can still be hurt, and even killed with enough force. Unlike almost every other soul in existence, Starshifter souls do not have a home, and so reincarnate immediately, forgetting everything they learned and experienced in their past lives. These memories can still be recovered, but this is extremely difficult, as universes will generally give this information to the infinity spirit Colour, who guards them within her own realm.
